Wood Restaurant - Manchester

Jumpsuit - ASOS
WOOD Restaurant is in Manchester on Jack Rosenthal Street. I was invited to try out their new bar/terrace menu and my Mum had just finished her final year at University so it was a great way for us to celebrate her results with some food and drinks.

We sat in the bar area which is decorated beautifully, you also have the option to sit outside on their terrace. The menu is a lot smaller than the Lunch/A La Carte Menu. However, there's enough options to please everyone. I went for the vegetarian Wild Mushroom Raviolo with Sage, Chestnut and Pangrattato. This was perfect for me as I demolished the whole plate. The portion size was enough as I finished without needing more. My Mum had the Scallops with Burnt Cauliflower and Panch Phoran.

We both also shared some sides which is know as 'lights' on the menu. Out of the options of Monkey Nuts, Woodland Salad, Jersey Royal Baby Jackets, Pork Belly Bites and 5 Cheeses. We tried the salad and baby jackets which were delicious! The chefs in this restaurant definitely know their flavouring and what goes well together, I don't know how they made it taste so yummy (this is probably why I am not a chef). I remember we both couldn't stop 'Mmmmm'ing and 'Ahhh'ing at our food which has to be a good sign.

Of course, we couldn't go without having some cocktails. I love trying the Mojito's from every restaurant and this one was definitely a favourite of mine. If you're drinking the alcoholic drinks then the cocktails here are strong and you get your moneys worth. Don't you hate it when you buy a alcoholic cocktail and feel like there's nothing in your glass but ice? You won't get that here! I also had a try of my Mum's cocktail 'Nirvana' which was a mix of  Amaretto, Maraschino and Cherry. Another really good pick and I might have even liked it more than my own drink!

I would definitely visit here again as I had such a good experience. Visit the WOOD Restaurant website here!
