The Pen and Pencil is in Manchester's Norther Quarter which is home to some delicious food and drink spots. I went to try out their brunch menu recently and there are some amazing choices for all. Including vegetarian and vegan options which I know many of my followers will love.
The brunch menu is served between 10am and 4pm everyday, I was stuck between the Spinach Garlic Kulcha (a vegetarian option which is a creamy melted cheese and spinach wrapped in delicious crepe) and one of 'the classics' eggs benedict. If you know me, you'd know I went for the classic Benedict. It was bloody good choice, definitely one of the best I have had. It came with cider-braised ham hock, poached eggs, hollandaise and grilled sourdough.
On the side, I sipped a vegan Solero smoothie (pineapple, Eager orange, passionfruit, vanilla and mango) if you love fruity and sweet drinks - I would recommend this one! I also tried my mum's latte which was a sweet and tasty cup of coffee. My mum picked the Avocado and Feta plate which she thoroughly enjoyed (and it's suitable for vegetarians!).
Although, I am not vegetarian I do usually prefer the vegetarian menu and understand how hard it can be for people to find restaurants that suit their food choices. So when I write my food reviews I will make sure to look out for any vegi restaurants and cafes.
