The Botanist in Didsbury // Manchester*

The Botanist is one of my favourite places for food and cocktails, I was really excited to hear that it was opening in Didsbury, Manchester on Monday 3rd April. I was invited this Thursday to attend the launch and try out the menu before the official opening...

The decor of the place really stands out and looks amazing. I noticed the huge chandelier dangling from the ceiling was made from vintage looking forks, bottles, watering cans and rakes. Underneath was a piano where a band performed and it was really nice to listen to live music throughout the night. I also spotted some balcony seats which I would love to sit at in the summer.

There is a selection of botanical cocktails, beers, ales, champagne and wine. I tried the Watermelon Dew and Strawberry Milk - both were really tasty and looked perfect for Instagramming (we all know that's important when choosing cocktails).

I found it really hard to choose what food to eat as I wanted to try everything, the menu is inspired by deli, rotisserie and BBQ. For starters I had the homemade hummus board, and then for my main I chose from the 'home comforts' and went for Fish and Chips. It was delicious and came in a wooden tray, with a mini plant pot and watering can for my mushy peas and tartare sauce - so cute! Lastly, even though I was full, I couldn't help but try the cookie dough dessert which was as amazing as it sounds!

Overall, I had a lovely night and I will definitely going back again during the Summer!
